Vibrant Gujarat Delegation visited UAE for a road show to promote Vibrant Gujarat Summit from 11 – 13 Jan 2015
A delegation led by Mr. BB Swain, MD, GIDC, visited UAE for a road show to promote Vibrant Gujarat Summit to be held from 11 – 13 Jan 2015 at Gandhinagar, Gujarat. This was second leg of their tour that began with Qatar. On 7th September, the delegation interacted with Indian investors over Lunch and Dinner organized by IBPC Dubai and on 8th they met with a delegation from Dubai Chamber of Commerce where various avenues of trade promotion between Gujarat and Dubai were discussed.
Delegation visit from Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) to attend the 20th edition of Gulfood in Dubai from 8 – 12 February, 2015
The 20th edition of Gulfood, the world’s largest annual exhibition in food and hospitality was held in Dubai from 8 – 12 February, 2015. The exhibition hosted over more than 4800 companies and government organizations from various countries. The Indian pavilion saw participation of more than 300 companies. The Indian pavilion comprised of around companies under the aegis of Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) and trade promotion councils including Cashew Export Promotion Council, Tea Board also participated in the event. The Indian Pavilion was one of the biggest pavilions in the exhibition. The pavilion promoted rice – Basmati and non - Basmati, herbs, spices, processed food products, poultry, meat, dairy products, confectionary, juices, chocolates, ready to eat foodstuff, varieties of tea etc.
Visit of Kerala delegation led by Mr. Ommen Chandy, Hon’ble Chief Minister visited Dubai from 29th March – 2 April, 2015
A 3 member delegation from Kerala led by Mr. Ommen Chandy, Hon’ble Chief Minister to participate in Annual Investment Meet (AIM) 2015 organized by UAE Ministry of economy. In addition to participating in AIM 2015 as one of the chief speakers in one of the panel discussions, the Hon’ble Minister had meetings with Ruler of Dubai HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Minister of Economy HE Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri and Dr Mohammad Al Zarooni, Director General of Dubai Airport Free Zone. The minister also attended the Board of Directors meeting in TECOM for Smart City Kochi.
Visit of Telangana delegation from Telangana led by Mr. Jupalli Krishna Rao, Hon'ble Minister for Industries, Handloom, and Textile visited Dubai from 29th March to 1st April, 2015
A delegation from Telangana led by Mr. Jupalli Krishna Rao, Hon'ble Minister for Industries, Handloom, Textile visited Dubai from 29th March to 1st April, 2015 to participate in Annual Investment Meet (AIM) 2015 organized by UAE Ministry of economy. During the visit the Minister had meetings with TECOM Smart City Authority and also one to one meetings with investors including Lulu Group, Pure Gold, Varkey Group, and SRM Group among others. A dinner networking event was also held to showcase the opportunities in the new formed state of Telangana, which was attended by many prominent businessmen and media.
Visit of Minister of State Finance: Hon’ble Minister of State for Finance Shri Jayant Sinha visited Dubai from 10 – 12 April, 2015.
Hon'ble Minister delivered a keynote speech during the inaugural edition of a new speaker series - UTKARSH Bharat - an initiative of Consulate-General of India in association with the Pan IIM Alumni Network. Further Minister met with Governor of Dubai International Financial Centre and discussed about India’s first smart city – GIFT and also attended two different investment sessions, one with prominent and HNI Emiratis and second session a town hall meeting with 200 potential investors, mainly Indians.

Visit by Shri. Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister of India to UAE from 16th - 17th August, 2015
At the invitation of His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will pay an Official Visit to UAE on 16-17 August, 2015. Prime Minister will also meet with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai during the visit.
Gift City Gujarat Delegation - September 5th – 8th, 2015

GIFT City signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) for cooperation and participation for setting up International Commodity Exchange in GIFT SEZ-IFSC. The MoU will help in working in close partnership to share best market practices for setting up International Commodity Exchange in GIFT SEZ-IFSC. The MoU was signed between CEO of DMCC, Mr. Gautam Sashittal and Director & Group CEO of GIFT SEZ LTD. Mr. Ajay Pandey in the presence of Deputy Consul General of India in Dubai, Mr. Muraleedharan K. A presentation was done to various Banks operating in DIFC. The same was organized by Bank of Baroda & Punjab National Bank located in DIFC. The presentation mainly covered the opportunities for various Banks under the new International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) regulations issued by Govt. of India for GIFT SEZ-IFSC.

HCCI Delegation to Ras Al Khaimah from October 4th-5th, 2015
Haryana Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ras Al Khaimah Investment Authority (RAKIA). Government of Karnataka is holding “Invest Karnataka 2016” from 3rd to 5th February, 2016 in Bengaluru to attract investments to the state. In this connection, a high level delegation led by Sri R.V Deshpande, Hon’ble Minister for Large & Medium Industries and Tourism, Government of Karnataka visited United Arab Emirates (UAE) from 25th to 26th October, 2015 to showcase investment opportunities of State in various sectors. Ayush Delegation to Dubai from November 2nd-4th, 2015 to attend MENOPE
A two member delegation from Ministry of AYUSH attended the 13th Edition of Middle East Natural & Organic Products Expo. The only niche Natural & Organic Product Show in Middle East. The sectors highlighted were Food and Beverages, Cosmetics and Herbal Products, Natural Healthcare including Ayurvedic, Jute, Coir and other eco-friendly products. The event was a good opportunity for government agencies and export community to look into this promising market in the Arabian Gulf.

During the visit, Shri Arun Jaietly inaugurated the UAE-India Economic Forum on 16th November, 2015 at Burj Al Arab. The Hon’ble minister had a Round Table meeting with the top CEO of UAE organized by FICCI. A community event for the Indian Diaspora was organized by Consulate General of India and Shri Arun Jaietly addressed the gathering.

The UAE-India Economic Forum on 16th November, 2015 at Burj Al Arab inaugurated by Shri Arun Jaietly, Hon’ble Minister for Finance, Corporate Affairs, Information, and Broadcasting, Government of India. Shri. Prof Abhishek Mishra, Shri. Haseeb Drabu was invited as the keynote speakers in the Forum. The represented their state under Discover India and Uttar Pradesh Special Economic Feature respectively in the Forum. The two day event bought over 300 delegates mainly political and business leaders from United Arab Emirates, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Jordan, Egypt and India.

A 5 member delegation from Government of Gujarat (GoG), headed by Shri Saurabh Dalal , (Minister for Finance, Energy and Petrochemicals, Mines Minerals, Cottage Industries, Salt Industries, Printing and Stationery, Planning, Tourism, Civil aviation, Labour and Employment) visited Dubai from 8 - 10 August, 2014.

The main objective of the delegation's visit was to study the infrastructural, legal, financial and other necessary frameworks that support the successful operation of more than 25 free zones in Dubai. This comes in the backdrop of Gujarat's efforts to initiate a project called the GIFT (Gujarat International Financial Tech) city, near Ahmadabad, (in partnership with IL&FS). GIFT city, a globally benchmarked Global Financial Hub with International Financial Service Centre (IFSC) is implemented as a Smart City, a first of its kind in India, designed to be at or above par with globally benchmarked financial centers such as Shinjuku, Tokyo, Lujiazui, Shanghai, La Defense, Paris, London Dockyards etc. GIFT City is the vision of India's Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the GIFT City committee is implementing the vision envisaged by the great leadership.
The Hon'ble Minister along with the Consul General of India and the delegation members met the top level officials from Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) and Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC). He also interacted with the Indian businessmen based out of Dubai and met the members from the Indian community. The Minister and the delegation not only held the growth story of Dubai in high regard but also appreciated the warm hospitality they received from the Dubai authorities and the affection shown by the Indian community.
